 From the swirling fire pit in the land of Pretoria Few bands have survived the smoking hell fire and Reaped the rewards of true success. This bold statement Stands for most, but in the darkness lurk the Hungry few, pushing the envelope ever further on their Quest for immortality among the rock fraternity. Cue. Hukine Consisting of 4 members: Jarryd Wood, Rory Cassells, James Schmidt, Bryce Manicom playing the bass, guitar, guitar And drums respectively. Lead vocal duties are taken up by Rory Cassells while backing vocals are those of Jarryd Wood. All members of the band are from Pretoria. The band began with Rory and James in late 2006. Bryce was later brought in on drums In early 2007 and the final piece came with Jarryd on bass in April 2007. All together the band have been playing instruments Collectively in excess of 25 years. Influenced by such bands as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age, Children of Bodom, Slayer, Mastodon, Black Sabbath And Primus. The band have mastered their own original take on the Stoner/Doom Metal genre and progressing ever further. In only 6 months as a full band, Hukine began the recording for Their first 6 track EP, entitled ”Retro-Violence”. As a result of this, It is evident that the band are both prolific song writers and Truly original artists and provide the increasingly growing metal Music business with a fresh and original outlook on a familiar Platform. |
