 HEMRIDGE
Hemridge is the new Pretoria based, brass balls heavy metal band doing the local venue rounds.
Filled with solid riffs and a suicidal bass drum, these metal youngsters ooze their unique sound
over great metal to produce a fresh riff-metal unheard of in South Africa. Overflowing with passion
for their music and the local scene, the guys have been going at it from school days and I definitely
see these guys becoming a sorely missed pillar for the new wave- the inevitable explosion of screaming
guitars and growling lyrics that will be the local scene. The band’s current primaries are getting
noticed, getting parties up, and delivering a sound that appeals to both the weekend-head banger as
well as the Heavy Metal connoisseurs. Tap your feet or bang your head, you cant stay still while
these guys are under the lights. The guys are all currently studying sound engineering, giving
them a certain advantage to create their own sound and still delivering a commercially viable
package, being able to rock any venue with a stage and a couple of amps that can go all the way up
to eleven! Hemridge has been flooded with success since they first performed, doing better than
bands that had been trying all sorts of tricks to get noticed, a sure sign that great talent gets
what it deserves, recognition.
