 Born Duduzile Mildred Khobotlo, on 20th September 1984 in Sebokeng, lives with her parents in Mid Ennerdale, South of Johannesburg, South Africa. She has 4 sisters and 3 brothers, and the 4th brother passed away in 2003. She is number 7 before the last born sisters who are twins. Her Father is a Pastor and so is her Mother, therefore she has a very spiritual background. Her mother is a good singer as well as her elder sister and her young twin sisters. Her elder sister inspired her most as she used to watch her singing song from Marie Carry, Whitney Houston and Bebe & Cece Winance.
She started singing at the age of 9 in a church choir. She then joined the SOS Community Choir in Ennerdale in 2003 where she sang Solo and Alto parts. She recorded with the choir in 2003, and toured and performed in most venues in South Africa and shared the stage with artists like Patrick Duncan, Ricky Duncan, Lewis from Afro Zee, and Joe For Real. In November 2004, she was given two awards as “The Best Female Vocalist” and “Best Developed Individual” from the Choir. On 20th September 2004, she appeared on SABC 1 Gospel Gold program leading the choir singing the song titled FACE TO FACE.
In 2004 she met a guy called Ray who introduced her to Stain Phiri who offered to launch her solo career as a Producer and Manager, of which she agreed and started working with him for her debut album in June 2004. At the time of recording, she was still undergoing her studies in pre-nursing at The South African Red Cross.
In August 2005 she moved to Botswana where she started singing in clubs, hotels and restaurants like Bull and Bush Restaurant, Moghul, News Café, Kerg Restaurant, Thapama Hotel, Letsatsi Cassino in Palapye, Botshalo Hotel, Tavern, Buyani and Q bar. She also shoot a trial video for the first CD, the song titled PICOCO in November 2005 which is being shown on GBC TV and BTV up to now. These are Botswana favorite television channels.
She is also doing sessions for TV and radio adverts, and backing some Botswana local artists. She also has written some songs for other artists like Hellen who did a house album, and her songs are the most played on radio.
She started recording SEBENZA in November 2005 very slowly; first gathering ideas on the concept of the project then record the songs in different times to avoid monotony of ideas. She worked with other artist in the project like Maxy and DT who are very popular in Botswana. It took almost one year to record the album but had to do most of the backing voices because of language problem in Botswana.
