 Pense em um chiclete. Suave em sua fragrância, doce no início, mas à medida que o tempo passa vai se tornando mais resistente e finalmente se torna algo que você não consegue mais se livrar. Falar de SPUNKE e falar de chiclete é uma associação natural quando se buscam as referências bubblegûmicas dessas quatro figuras. Ramones e Carbona saltam aos ouvidos quando você escuta o som da banda, e o processo é exatamente o mesmo do chiclete. Inicialmente o que lhe chama a atenção é uma menina cantando, com voz suave e encanto natural, um jeitinho meigo e nada ameaçador. Mas aí você olha em volta e vê os três sujeitos que a acompanham, pesados, densos e concentrados em suas ações. Lentamente você começa a prestar atenção em tudo mais que vem aos seus sentidos e vai entendendo que as letras são de protesto e engajadas, você percebe que a bateria tem a marcação certeira como o machado do algoz e que o punk rock que está sendo feito tem um propósito: provocar reações! Você vai entendendo que o nome da banda não é uma homenagem a nenhum satélite do século passado, mas sim uma pancada com postura, atitude e responsabilidade. E aí você já foi pego. Não consegue mais se ver livre da banda. SPUNKE pegou você e agora é só entrar na roda, chutar bem forte e urrar até os pulmões doerem, porque ao menos nesse momento você está fazendo algo que acredita, cercado de pessoas que pensam em um mundo melhor e mais justo. Bullas, Mauro, Saboya e Maurício possuem o firme propósito de cutucar mentes quietas com sua música, como garras em nosso cerebelo. Como um chiclete que não se deixa ser abandonado, e não te deixa em paz e vai te acompanhar por muito tempo ainda. Doce? Só se um bombom recheado de cianureto for doce. Quer saber?
