Denny Anthony was born in Los Angeles, Ca. and at the age of 13, moved to Visalia Ca. Struggling with a new town, new school, and trying to find his place, he eventually turned to music. His life then became a stage, he would scream in the school hallways between periods where he was overheard singing by the choir instructor, who impressed with his vocal ability, urged him to try out for high school choir the following year. Singing in the choir was a release, but it did not satisfy him, it only fueled his desire to sing in a rock band. At 15, he was introduced to ‘Queensryche’, a band that to this day inspires him. Fates Warning also had a major influence on Denny. ‘Messenger’, his first rock band, recorded a 6 song demo which was sold in local stores. His next project was a band called A-Frame. After years of emulating vocalists Geoff Tate and Ray Alder, the opportunity to sing with the band “A-Frame” caused him to have a fresh sense of self worth as a vocalist. He later received opera training from Mac Phail School for the Arts. With his training, he was able to further his interest in progressive rock, and joined a band that had the same passion for music. Pale Frame would be one of two bands that he played with before returning home to Visalia, California. Upon his return he met his wife, Marian. He also made a called to an old band mate, Daryl Bolicek who informed him of a band seeking a vocalist. Turbulence was the band headed by guitar phenomenon Leigh Williams (Project: Absolute Zero, Turbulence, etc...). Denny was asked to join the band and he accepted with joy. A few months later, they recorded an EP. The ‘Turbulence’ debut EP entitled “Reign of Tyranny” is engineered and co-produced by Brian Dobbs, who has worked with rock legends such as Metallica, Motley Crue, Skid Row, and Godsmack (MI-2 Sndtrk) just to name a few. The EP features special guest on bass guitar, Ricky Ricardo (Dai Tribe, Project Storm, etc...), as well as the amazing drumming of Pete Felix. The opportunity was an amazing new beginning for Denny. He and his wife relocated to be closer to the band. Unfortunately, Denny saw a rising conflict within the organization. After a long contemplation, Denny Anthony resigned his position with Turbulence. He is still writing music and collaborating with musicians and has plans ..ing his solo project and enjoying tranquility with his wife. That is not to say he would hit the road for a decent tour... Denny Anthony truly has a gift to offer those who would lend an ear. (Biography provided in part by Sheri "Dee") |
