 My name is IVAN MIHALJEVIC and I am a guitarist/singer/songwriter.
I was born in Zagreb (1986).
When I was 14 years old I started taking guitar lessons in Rock Academy. During the next few years I played in a few bands until I formed the band named Forsaken. I played a lot of live shows with Forsaken in Croatia and recorded 2 demo albums. When I finished Rock Academy I continued to take guitar lessons (as well as theory, singing and piano lessons) in Music Highschool for Jazz and Popular Music.
In the summer of 2005 I performed at the biggest European metal festival: the Wacken Open Air in Germany with a famous Croatian hard rock band Hard Time, and got excellent reviews.
During the next year and half I played in a few bands, but nothing worked out and I was playing gigs every now and then with Hard Time, filling in for their guitarist whenever he couldn't play a gig.
In November 2006 I became a full time member of Hard Time, played a lot of gigs with the band (including: a concert being recorded for a live DVD; a concert with one of my biggest guitar heroes Paul Gilbert; and a festival with rock legends The Cult and Scorpions) and recorded 2 music videos (for the songs "Deja vu" and "Zombie").
In November 2007 I went on my first European tour with Hard Time and in 2008 I also toured England with Hard Time.
In August 2008 I released my first solo album "Sandcastle".
In October 2008 I played a show with Paul Gilbert again, but this time as a solo artist, playing songs off my album "Sandcastle".
In November 2008 I toured Europe with Hard Time again.
After that I went to USA to record some more songs for the new John Denner record with the likes of Billy Sheehan, Brett Garsed, Phil Hilborne, Jamie Humphries, Owen Edwards, Danny Gill....
During that period I also played on stage in New York with the inventor of the electric guitar Les Paul, in Iridium Jazz Club.
In December 2008 the new Hard Time live album "Live in Jabuka" was released
In April 2009 I've been in the final online round of Guitar Idol and I've been competing to play in the live finals in London (thanks to everybody who voted for me and helped me to get this far)!
Currently, I'm Instructor at GUITAR MASTER CLASS and I'm working on my second solo album "Destination Unknown" and a new Hard Time studio album.
