BIOGRAPHY SERGIO VIEIRA Composer, guitarist and singer, began his musical path playing in martial bands and fanfares in Round Turn - Volta Redonda - RJ to the 12 years of age. Therefore later he began to play a guitar that actually had been given by his/her father to her sister, that had begun the course of Medicine and she didn't have time to play. To the 20 years he moved for the city of Rio de Janeiro, where he studied Functional Harmony and Musical Perception with Ian Guest, besides Arrangement and Orchestration with Roberto Gnatalli in UNIRIO. In 1986 it participated in the I Brazilian Seminar of the Instrumental Music in Ouro Preto - MG beside great names of MPB, among the ones which: Toninho Horta , Dori Caymmi, Helio Delmiro, Rafael Rabello, Nivaldo Ornelas, Nico Assumpção and Wagner Tiso. Ever since it comes if presenting in several capitals of Brazil and it recorded, in 1999 the CD Maracutaia with own compositions, that it was very eulogized by the specialized critic and for important names of MPB among the ones which: Victor Biglione, Fátima Guedes and Toninho Horta. Impassioned by the Brazilian culture, it implanted several musical projects in the Fluminense South area (Rio de Janeiro), working with important names of the Brazilian and international artistic scenery, among the ones which: Toninho Horta, Lô Borges, Victor Biglione, Alceu Valença, Los Hermanos, Turíbio Santos and Ithamara Koorax. It produced a show with Paulo Moura in 1997 in Barra Mansa - RJ that originated the CD, live engraving "Paulo Moura and the Batutas - Pixinguinha" - Digital Rob Records that he was the winner of the Prêmio Sharp of Better Group of Instrumental Music of 1997 and of Better Producing of Instrumental Music of 1997 for Paulo Moura. This CD stayed in the list of 10 better suitable CD's for Barnes & Nobles of June to December of the same year in New York. Now it is working in new projects, being the main of them the one of recording of his second CD, in which will be presenting an unpublished coalition repertoire among rítmos of the Brazilian musical culture, that it will count with the participation of important names of MPB and that it should be thrown in the main capitals of Brazil, Europe, United States and Japan.Besides one of the songs that are already in my page is on that work (Morahaitawa), that he treats basically of songs with rítmos of the Brazilian popular music on poems in the dialect Parakanã, belonging to the linguistic trunk Tupí, written by the own Indians, what comes to be an unpublished work of coalition between MPB and the language Tupí, spoken by the Indians, first inhabitants from America and of Brazil. |
